Harry Potter purchased this book on 31 July 1991 in Flourish and Blotts in Diagon Alley, whilst he was buying supplies for his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry that year with Rubeus Hagrid. In or prior to 1932, a second edition had been published. ![]() The book was first released in early 1927, and a launch party was held at seven o'clock on 19 March at Flourish and Blotts in Diagon Alley, where the Magizoologist was accompanied by his childhood friend Leta Lestrange, his older brother Theseus Scamander and his assistant, Bunty. On 16 December 1926, Porpentina Goldstein named this book before saying goodbye to him before he headed back to London. It was a standard textbook at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry since it was written in 1927. ![]() No wizarding household is complete without a copy of Fantastic Beasts, well thumbed by the generations who have riffled its pages in search of the best way to rid the lawn of Horklumps, interpret the mournful cries of the Augurey, or cure their pet Puffskein of drinking out of the toilet." - Albus Dumbledore įantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was a book written by Newt Scamander and titled by Porpentina Goldstein, detailing the field of Magizoology, the study of magical creatures. But it was a bit fun to hear the crowd count down the clock! And evidently Warwick Davis, who plays Flitwick, was on hand to conduct the festivities." Newt's masterpiece had been an approved textbook at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry ever since its publication and must take a substantial amount of credit for our students' consistently high results in Care of Magical Creatures examinations - yet it is not a book to be confined to the classroom. There was line just to get into the shop. Just be warned: it's insanely busy if you go on Sept 1.when everyone is supposed to catch the Hogwarts Express! We came into King's Cross on that day, and it was utter chaos. I'm betting your daughter would get such a kick out of it and find lots of goodies. Next time you are in London Eti, I recommend swinging by King's Cross and visiting Platform 9 3/4. I've also been on the Studio Tour and agree it's well worth the trip! Oh, and the regulation Gryffindor scarf of course! Ireland has a very special place in my heart, so I was thrilled to be able to add the Irish version of the first book to my collection, bought from a little Irish bookstore on the Dingle Peninsula.īut I do have some fun pieces, to include a wand, specifically Sirius's wand, and plush toys of Buckbeak, Fawkes, Hedwig (actually 3 different sizes and types of her) and a Niffler. I have multiple copies of the original stories and then have collected most of the Vault books and the big huge movie/art books. Your daughter sounds absolutely darling Eti! You must have raised her right if she's started her own collecting habits.Īs for myself, I'm definitely a HP nerd, though perhaps not as much as one of my friends, who lives and breathes Potter! I don't have too many of the high-end collectibles I think I'm more focused on the book-ish side of things. I started this thread to see if we have HP collectors and fans here and to share with you my daughter's Collection and some photos of our visit to the Harry Potter Studios too OMG its is just amazing.so worth the visit. Seeing her love for HP we returned to London for New Year and on New Years Eve we took her to Harry Potter Studios London. I love buying her pieces cause she loves them and takes care and so much pride in displaying them. Today she has her own small but fastly growing collection. There and then she bought her first Wand Hermione's and well its been downhill from there. Then End of Year 2016 we were in London for holiday and visited Hamley's Toy Store and Now being my daughter with collector blood running through her veins as soon as she saw the Noble Collection Section she was just stunned. But a year ago i watched Harry Potter Movies with my 9 year old daughter and she fell in love with the movies. I always liked Harry Potter but never got into it.and never thought to collect anything even though the pieces are amazing.
